Diversity Interest Group Forming

If you are interested in exploring how our congregation can become intentionally diverse
through mutual support, education, outreach and service projects, you are invited to join a new interest group called the Diversity Interest Group.

The group will initially communicate through emails until members can settle on a regular time and place to meet, probably once a month. Some of the activities this group may consider are:

• Writing regular Voice articles for the column "On Diversity" (first article appears in this
month's issue)
• Giving workshops on diversity
• Showing movies and holding discussions on diversity
• Offering an Adult RE program on Diversity
• Leading a Sunday morning service on diversity
• Creating displays around the church to celebrate diversity (e.g. Black History Month,
Asian Pacific American Heritage Month, Gay History Month, etc…)
• Organizing social action programs on diversity (Gay-pride parade, rallies, attending
legislative hearings related to diversity issues etc…)
• Drafting and championing congregational resolutions in support of diversity
